This past weekend, the Laguna Beach Police Department participated in the Main to Main detail, a joint operation with regional law enforcement agencies to address loud vehicles with modified exhaust and illegal street racing.

During the joint operation, 206 vehicles were stopped for violations, 177 vehicles were cited for vehicle code violations (including loud/modified exhaust), 16 vehicles were inspected by BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) referees. Three vehicle stops resulted in criminal arrests.

The Laguna Beach Police Department expresses thanks to our law enforcement partners: Newport Beach Police Department (hosting agency), Seal Beach Police Department, Huntington Beach Police Department, Garden Grove Police Department, Santa Ana Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and the Bureau of Automotive Repair for their assistance in this operation.

The Laguna Beach Police Department shares the same concerns as many of our residents and visitors due to the nuisance of loud vehicles, and we will continue to work diligently to address the issue.
