The City’s Photo Contest is open to those who live, work, or exhibit in Laguna Beach. Entries are due November 14, 2022. This year’s photo contest theme is capturing your favorite _______ in Laguna Beach! We encourage images that depict the vibrancy, vitality, and livability of our City. We also encourage you to submit images with people in them, either from afar or close up.

Please see the following categories as a guide:

  • Active Laguna

    • Biking, Surfing, Hiking, and Walking

    • Example: My favorite hiking trail

  • My Community

    • Events, Art, Restaurants, Culture, and City-Sponsored Activities

    • Example: My favorite art piece

  • Environmental

    • Beach vistas, sunsets, and views of open space

    • Example: My favorite spot to watch the sunrise

RULES 

  1. Photographs must have been taken within the city limits of Laguna Beach. 

  2. Each participant may enter up to three photographs. 

  3. Photographs must not have been previously published. Photographs originally posted to Social Media may be submitted. 

  4. Entries must be suitable for display on a public website. 

  5. Photographs should be high resolution, for instance 300 dpi and/or at least 3 MB. 

  6. All entered photographs may be used as content, with a photo credit, on the City’s website or in other non-commercial ways to promote Laguna Beach. The photographer retains the copyright to his or her work. 

  7. By entering this contest you agree to comply with the above rules. 

WINNING ENTRIES

First prize photos in each category will receive $500. Additional winners will receive $100 each. All winners will receive recognition at a City Council Meeting, be featured on the City’s social media channels, and will be posted in a gallery on the City’s website. The winners will be selected by a local professional photographer.
