CR&R will collect all holiday greenery for a three-week period between December 26th and January 15th. Residents can place holiday greenery in or next to their organics cart for collection. Additional information pertaining to holiday greenery collection will be distributed closer to the month of December. 

Filled sand bags should be emptied as required of any recycling item. Sand needs to be trashed/reused and the bag placed in the trash cart or bin.

Storage and re-use of the sand/sand bags is always preferable.

Residents can take sand bags directly to the landfill for a nominal fee. Please visit https://www.oclandfills.com/landfills for more information.

Only CR&R has the legal right to take recyclables placed in your recycling cart. Here is what you can do to help:

Put your recyclables out on the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection rather than the night before.

If the incident is in progress, call the police department at (949) 497-0701.

If you need to replace a lost or stolen cart, add additional carts, or exchange the size of your carts, call CR&R's Customer Service Center at (949)-662-3819. You may upgrade the size of your organic and recycling carts at no additional cost. Residential rates are based on the size of the trash bin size. 

No, the bill only requires Tier One Businesses, which includes major supermarkets and grocery stores, to donate edible food as of January 1, 2022. However, if you would like to donate food, reach out to the Laguna Food Pantry to see how you can help.

Plastic bags are not acceptable. It is preferable that you do not use any bag. If you do need to use a bag to eliminate odors or mess, please use recyclable paper bags or BPI-certified compostable bags.

Yes. You can repurpose a container or bowl you have at home to collect food scraps. Food waste pails, containers, or bowls can also be purchased at various stores, including Target, Home Depot, Walmart, etc.

There is too much potential for pest problems, so we do not recommend composting or burying these materials.

Yes. Any untreated paper product may be composted. Worms love coffee grounds and filters, as well as teabags. Don't try to compost treated papers such as glossy magazines or photographs, waxed paper, and certain copy papers.

Natural fibers including fleece, cotton, hemp and burlap be all composted.

We recommend against composting pet wastes because of potential disease and parasite transmission.

Yes. However, fibers from synthetic carpeting will not decompose (but they will probably not be noticeable in the finished compost).
