Members of the HIV Advisory Committee advise City Council on ways to educate and inform our community about the disease, its transmission, and ways to prevent it. Also, to assist and support those living with HIV and AIDS. The committee is not appointed by City Council. Rather, HIV Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public and those who attend three may be voted into membership if they wish to join. The committee's members represent community groups including religious, school district, medical, health care, and AIDS outreach groups.

The HIV Advisory Committee generally meets on the first Thursday of the month at 4:00 p.m.
